-Mount the unit on the
furnace plenum in the middle of the front side a couple of inches from the edge,
within reach of the outlet. Drill 2-1/8” holes and use the screws. The lid goes
up. The unit relys on gravity for the water to flow and has to be above the
drain level in order to work properly.
-Install saddle valve on the cold water pipe
according to instructions on packet and connect tubing. Leave off. Route tubing
to unit’s solenoid “in” port, cut, connect and clamp.Just push the tubing into
the push-loc fittings until it stops and pull out a little
-Option 1-Place the bushing into the vent pipe
of the condensat drain trap and insert the nozzle into the bushing until it
clicks. Arrow points down. Light pressure is all thats required. Route tubing
from the top of the nozzle to the solenoid “out” port, cut and clamp 2 places.
Just push the tubing into the push-loc fittings until it stops and pull out a
little.
-Option 2-Remove the 3/4”
pipe plug by the drain and insert the 12” long piece of tubing into the hole to
the mark, about 2”. Screw the pipe plug adapter in place finger tight. Connect
nozzle to tubing. Arrow points down. Hold nozzle up to the plenum, vertical, and
clamp the tubing on both sides of the nozzle. Route tubing from the top of the
nozzle to the solenoid “out” port, cut and install. Just push the tubing into
the push-loc fittings until it stops and pull out a little.
-Option 3-Remove Inspection Panel on plenum to
gain access to the evaporator. Modify the nozzle by removing the brass nipple
from the plastic coupler, finger tight. Ty-wrap the nozzle to the evaporator’s
tubing so it’s pointing down, 45 degree angle, and towards the middle, about an
inch above drain pan. If you want the unit to add some humidity while it keeps
the drain clean point the nozzle towards the evaporator instead of the drain and
increase time settings. Water that doesn’t evaporate will still go down the
drain. Drill 1/4” hole in side of plenum for tube routing. Be sure to test
operation before installing inspection panel.
-Plug the timer into the electrical outlet on
the side of the furnace with the condensat pump. Rotate the thumb wheel to the
“off” position and pull one trigger up at noon and one at midnight. This gives 1
hour of “on-time” which equals .60gals. of water per day. Plug unit into timer,
amber light “off”. Turn saddle valve “on”, observe for leaks. Rotate the thumb
wheel to the “on” position, amber light “on”, unit is working. Everything
working properly, rotate the thumb wheel to the “off” position and everything is
ready to work automatically for many years.
-Job well done. Thanks.
